Event Highlights and Impact
In November 2024, Jeweld Consulting proudly partnered with the City of Oakland Community Homelessness Services (CHS) for the 33rd annual Community Day of Thanks. This two-day event celebrated gratitude, community, and giving back. Hundreds of residents and volunteers came together to make a meaningful difference.
Day 1: Senior Luncheon
On Monday, November 25, nearly 500 seniors gathered for a Thanksgiving luncheon. Attendees enjoyed warm conversations and delicious meals. The excitement of the raffle was a highlight, featuring wonderful prizes such as autographed photos from Golden State Warriors players.
Day 2: Meal Distribution
The next day, Tuesday, November 26, focused on serving Oakland’s homeless, low-income, and senior citizen communities. Local leaders, including Assemblywoman Mia Bonta, current Oakland Mayor, Sheng Thao, and former Oakland Mayor, Jean Quan, joined passionate volunteers. Together, they delivered hundreds of Thanksgiving meals to people in need throughout the city. A dozen distribution sites were set up throughout Oakland to ensure wide-reaching access to a holiday meal.
