Our Legacy
From Jeweld Legacy Group to Jeweld Consulting
In 2014, Carol F. Burton founded Jeweld Legacy Group in honor of her mother. With years of nonprofit leadership experience, Carol envisioned a consultancy that would serve historically marginalized communities. She wanted the organization to benefit the Black community, foster meaningful change, and make a lasting impact.
For the past decade, we’ve partnered with government entities and nonprofits to address disparities in health, social, and economic outcomes. Our mission is to advance health equity and build resilient systems for everyone—especially Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities. In today’s political landscape, where marginalized groups face increasing barriers, our work has never been more vital. By collaborating with our partners, we empower communities, champion equity, and pursue sustainable solutions for a just future.
A Journey of Purpose and Resilience
The journey wasn’t easy. In the beginning, Carol faced financial challenges but overcame them with resilience, faith, and support from her community. As demand grew, she realized that to meet the needs of her clients, the firm needed to expand. In 2022, Jeweld Consulting welcomed its first employees. This shift created a strong foundation for the company to support a broader mission.
Today, Jeweld Consulting is a larger, rebranded entity, ready to tackle critical issues in health and social equity.
Building a Lasting Impact
In a world where racism, inequality, and economic barriers persist, Jeweld Consulting is committed to breaking down these obstacles. We work alongside communities to develop innovative solutions. Our approach is community-driven, as we believe sustainable change comes from those closest to the issues. By integrating community leadership, we challenge the status quo and pursue equitable outcomes.
As we move forward, Jeweld Consulting will continue building on the legacy of Jeweld Legacy Group. Our core values—equity, health, and social justice—will guide everything we do. Over the next decade, we are committed to expanding our impact, strengthening partnerships, and creating lasting, meaningful change.
